Maple Leaf Angels Announces New Managing Director

Toronto, ON (Dec 19, 2016) – We are delighted to announce Annie Pinet will be joining the Maple Leaf Angel’s team as our new Managing Director. Annie will be joining us from one of our Platinum sponsors, BDO Canada, a firm known for the strong relationships they build with their clients and communities.  Annie joins us from the BDO Technology practice where she was focused on creating industry and entrepreneurial community relationships and where she was mandated with connecting early stage companies with relevant investors.

Annie will be joining the organization effective February 6, 2017 and will be working with Brandon Corman, our current Managing Director, in a transition capacity until March 31, 2017.

Annie brings a strong business development background and deep experience in the technology entrepreneurial ecosystem. At BDO, Annie has been instrumental in the creation and execution of their Connecting with Venture Capitalists program, a leading program connecting early stage companies with key financing firms in the ecosystem. Prior to BDO Annie was with Deloitte where she had been actively involved with their Technology Fast 50 program and their Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) Predictions series. Annie volunteers her spare time to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and is an active member and mentor at the Durham Spark Centre, VentureLAB, StartupFestival, StartupCanada, and Futurpreneur.

We would also like to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Brandon Corman who has helped build Maple Leaf Angels over the last three years. Brandon lead the launch of our MLA48 fund business model and during his tenure  MLA members have invested $10.4M in 22 companies and seen 2 successful exits. Brandon will be assisting Annie with the transition to the new role before he enters his new life as an entrepreneur himself.
